Stop buying stuff you don’t need
You must have noticed that new product launches for internet marketing related products fly into your mailbox fast and furious. I doubt a day goes by without some new must have thing is launched at rocket speed and aimed straight at our credit cards… and like suckers we continue to buy. Only to later find we don’t need or use whatever it was we bought.
Perhaps its time that we stop buying every new thing launched.
Instead ask yourself this:
- what do I need?
- where am I heading with my online business, and what tools to I need to get that job done?
- have I got those tools already but not using them properly or enough?
- does this new piece of software really do something which my current software doesn’t?
- will I actually make use of it? Or is it just like a shiny brand new car that is just going to make me feel good but get me nowhere because I can’t really drive.
- is it just massaging my ego?
More than half the reason we buy so much is that the expert internet marketing copywriters know just which buttons to press in their sales letters. We’re being sold to by experts who know how to make us buy, and the only answer is to stop reading those sales pitches, those sales letters.
Think about all those firesale launches. Seems there’s a new one every weeks. Some months there seems to be new ones every few days. Like you I’m sometimes sucked into buying them because collectively they seem such a bargain. But guess what, just like you I hardly ever make use of anything in those packages, or read anything, or listen to anything… yet I still buy.
Firesales aren’t bargains when you don’t need the stuff being offered. And be honest with yourself. You don’t really need it, do you?
So before buying anything online ask yourself.
- Do I need this?
- Will I actually use it/read it.
- Is it essential to my online business.
In most cases the answer is going to be no, because what you really need to do is just sit down and create… add more pages to your web site…. create… talk into a microphone to record something you can sell …create …create
You do need to keep buying things when:
# you’re fairly new at this game and still finding your footing and not sure which direction you’re heading in.
# if you’re into bulk building ‘adsense’ sites. When you’re into the ‘throwing up sites as fast as you can’ game, you need to keep buying new tools, because the sites built by the old ones stop performing well when the Google guys build filters into the search engine results to stop the sites ranking high.
