Here’s a cool new tool from Google: The Wonder Wheel.

It’s a new feature of their search engine which lets you dig deep into any niche and uncover the true gems.

To find it just do a basic search – example: Labradoodle.

When the search results appear, click on “Show Options” just below the Google logo. Near the bottom of the options you’ll
see Wonder Wheel. Click on that and then click on one of the spokes and away you go, into an expanding graphical universe of niche site ideas.

It’s a fantastic way to find new untapped niches to exploit

If you’re sick of the never ending struggle of increasing your earnings from Google Adsense (and I’d hazard a guess that very few Internet marketers do well with it these days) then I’ve got something brand new for you: GadgetSpots.

It’s a viral classified ad network, that has something of the look and feel of Adsense, but works very differently. One of the great things about it is that it has an automatic 2 tier affiliate program built in, paying you $6 a month and $3 on the second tier.

All you have to do is display the ads on your site (it’s a very easy gadget/widget based install) and your affiliate link is automatically displayed below the ads.

Take a look in the right hand column – just down from the top - and you’ll see Sponsors.

That’s powered by GadgetSpots. Notice the built in affiliate link?

Powerful viral stuff.

There’s a lot to like about it. Apart from the built in affiliate program (which could earn you a lot over a year and, on it’s own, might earn you more than Adsense does) it also:

# can be placed on all your sites. (except ‘adult’ ones)

# on as many pages as you want (if you put it into your template or install it as a widget on a blog it will automatically appear throughout the site)

# you can put up as many ads as you want

# there’s both free and paid memberships – the affiliate program works with both kinds of memberships, but paid members see their ads displayed a lot more.

# you can change the look and feel of the ads very easily. The size, the shape, the colors, the background, to fit your site.

As an affiliate marketer, one of the things I like most of all is that you can put up ads with affiliate links in them.

I’ve tested it with a number of Ad Networks and the affiliate cookiesare carried over (if you look at the ads displayed under Sponsors you might see an Ad for one of Rob Benwell’s new books – The Niche Annihilation Method – which is being sold through Clickbank.
The ad starts with "Boy Genius Reveals his sneaky…" If you follow it through to the Clickbank order form you’ll see my affiliate id embedded, crediting me with the sale. (You might have to refresh the page quite a few times to see the ad)

Importantly (and I love this bit) it also works with click per action (CPA) ad networks like Azoogle, so you can rapidly test out new offers, just as you would with Adwords.

I really think that you should sign up right now. Especially if you’re interested in promoting the affiliate program, because as you know the first people to promote something tend to do better. Also because it pays you $6 monthly it will help provide you with a
residual income stream.

While you could become a free member I believe that because of the viral affiliate program the pro membership will pay for itself in no time at all. It only takes 3 signups to cover your costs, and because your ads will be displayed 75% of the time, rather than
the 25% free members share, more people will get to see your link and join under you. Plus you’ll also benefit from whatever it is you’re advertising.

Assuming this takes off big-time, pro members ads are going to get a lot of exposure.

And it’s not a fly by night, gone tomorrow setup. Websitings, the company behind GadgetSpots is run by a long-time friend of mine, Bill Burdin, who used to run one of the biggest online classified sites before he sold out years ago.

At one time Bill was also one of Google’s biggest Adsense earners, and 5 years ago we flew from Australia to London first class on the strength of our Adsense earnings (then on our return from the 3 week trip we both bought luxury cars with the $ we’d earned while we’d been away enjoying ourselves) but like me Bill has almost stopped using it.

We both see Gadgetspots as a viable alternative to Adsense.

So to sum up:

Think of GadgetSpots as being like traditional classified advertising, rather than as a simple traffic generation tool.

It’s not a traffic exchange where you get more visitors the more times you display the ads. (the problem with these is that you can’t get traffic if you don’t have it in the first place. Plus they’re also wide open to fake click abuse)

So Gadgetspots is advertising, pure and simple. Advertising is something that all businesses have to do to get more customers so the potential for this is huge. And as an affiliate marketer you’ll benefit in more ways than one.

So when you’re checking the viability of the phrase you want to rank for it’s best to take a look at the competition. One quick way of doing this is to use the free PageRank checking tool below.
